In battle, yeah, or keeping them from killing each other, but regular, every-day stuff? Making sure they keep appointments, or ...hell, I don't know, eating healthy or whatever? Not so much.

Those that require such care tend to receive it. In particular, I often see other campers procuring food for younger ones between meals.

Let's just say I'm not used to stitching together internal organs or helping kids who've just had their throats torn out as a general rule. I've been here for two Octobers now and I've had nightmares about each.

For October, not that bad yet. It'll get worse in the next couple of weeks, then be pretty quiet in November.

It usually starts off small, then once it hits the 20th things escalate. Worst around Halloween, sometimes extends to the weekend before or after.

Different events both times, or were there some consistent features?

Lemme just give you the full rundown. Whether you want it or not, I guess.

[grabs a folder sitting open on his desk and apparently recently looked-through anyway]

Let's see. I arrived on Oct 17 two years ago, so I can't say much before that. Day after I got there I had this girl who died and revived a bit, and some guy who couldn't stop spewing blood. Oct 19, a girl died multiple times on the same day due to a run of bad luck. On the 20th, some chemicals began to circulate in some water bottles which ate away at skin and muscle tissue, with cases coming in for the next week or so despite warnings going up the day after. Also, a bunch of people started turning into catboys but that was pretty harmless. Let's see... Around the 21st a bunch of people were brainwashed into thinking they were each other's brides, some duelling happened, no major injuries though. The 22nd was quiet, but a murder happened on the 23rd. The 24th-27th everyone unintentionally spurted pornography starring themselves everywhere but again, relatively harmless.

On Halloween: everyone turned into their halloween costumes, which was fine when they dressed up as their friends, but sucked when they dressed up as vampires, werewolves, and serial killers. I fortunately managed to somehow avoid turning into a vegas stripper in spirit as well as costume. Let's leave that part at that. Several campers had their throats torn out. A whole shitload of murders happened.

November 1 most of the bodies were found and/or people revived, sometimes still with medical problems remaining from their deaths.

The next few days a lot of nightmares struck everyone at once, but no wonder. That's it for that halloween.


2006! Oct 17 a camper turned into a monster and mauled a fuckload of people. Things were quiet and normal for the next while. Oct 26 a psychic assassin freaked out and ran through the hospital naked due to upcoming anticipated trouble. Oct 27 several gates to hell dimensions opened and demons spilled out all over the place. A few people went evil and attempted to steal other people's hearts. Several people's archnemeses show up and attack people from their world or associated individuals. A shark attacks camp from the lake. Oct 30, Sora turns into some black shadowy form, along with a bunch of shadows and some bigger... heartless thing. Pumpkins start biting people.

Halloween: Mutated animals attack people. The chinese guys start murdering people again -- why am I friends with them again? Several witches try to kidnap children. Four demon "bosses" arrive. People get mauled.

Nov 3, the hospital turns into a demon world hospital for a while. Bloodstains, zombies, and all. Though one of the zombie nurses is normal.

Annnnd that looks like the end of last year's halloween. Less porn, more actual carnage and maulings.

Your first October here -- was that before the institution of the moogles?

The moogles were already in camp by the time I arrived. I'm pretty sure they were fairly new, though, because it took until a few months after that before almost everyone was using them.
