[IC post-trauma post]
[....from Umeda's office, where the door is closed for once, comes the sound of Blade Runner.]
((OOC: Everyone and their mother, including Akiha and Io, have dropped in this last little while; Umeda's indulging in his comfort movie. *g* Anyone can feel free to jump this post to catch the movie with him or harass him after it to cheer him up; this post isn't for anyone specific -- I just didn't think I could manage a main-comm post that might hit a few thousand again, but anyone's still free to come and bug Umeda. Got an appointment? Meant to return something to him? Heard about the drops? Come by and say hi.))

Mmm, well... replicants were declared illegal and not allowed on earth, and Deckard's job is as a cop who specializes in 'terminating' replicants. He'd tried to get out of the force, but forced back in to chase four of them who'd hijacked a ship and come back because they're trying to find a way to extend their lifespan -- they were made with a built-in time limit.

Time limit, huh. ... So why not extend it and send em back?
[It's a good action scene, just a little pathetic as to how she goes down, finally.] Seems a little uneven, fuck, what's the point of killing an opponent who's already shown their back? Besides saving them the disgrace.

That's one of the things the movie wants you to ask, actually. 'Cause those replicants are human to us, but to the characters and the laws on earth? Fear of the other. Deckard's kind of running the line between the two as someone who's been interacting with them, but is also a weapon being wielded by the force of authority on the side that declares they're not human and can't feel.
A really brutal point, I guess -- just that he's supposed to.

[Goes quiet, this new info with the meeting between Pris and Sebastian. ... And frowning when he asks them to do a trick] Hnph.

[idly watches him watch it, still working on the legs] Can you still see the screen if I get you to roll over?
no subject
[Evaluates the screen for a second then shrugs, turns over] Doesn't matter.

Great. [feet and calves and thighs, oh my]
no subject
Taking out people like they have here? Fuck, must be something!

[eveeeentually, that muscle knot is going to start to relax a little.]

The last of the knot starts to smooth out as Roy's meeting with Tyrell starts escalating]
... Dammit.
no subject
Mmm?
no subject
Nothing. Just thought it was gonna be unsatisfying for a second there.

[moving on from the knee!]
